Mass Effect lead producer Casey Hudson said, in an interview with VideoGamer, a "continued stream" of DLC packs are now being developed for Mass Effect 2. He stated, rather than creating simple one-off adventures for the game, the DLC will be constructed to tell the tale that leads up to the epic adventure in Mass Effect 3. "So, for the time being there's going to be a continued stream of DLC for people," Hudson told VideoGamer. "We'll start to have packs that will tell the story between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. But beyond that we kind of have to see how people are responding to what we have and go from there." (read more)

EA Online Pass for Multiplayer Modes or pay $10.

EA is bringing Project $10 to its sports franchises. EA made an announcement that provided details about Online Pass, which is a new system that will unlock online multiplayer modes and reward gamers with extra content. Thing is players must purchase the game new to get the free code, if they purchase the game used, the player must pay an extra $10.00 to get access. The new Online Pass system will take action starting with all new games from EA for the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. (read more)

Sony's Protection Plan Extended Warranty Service.

Sony has a new extended warranty Protection Plan, a service that will give owners of the PlayStation 3 console and PSP handheld the option to extend their existing limited manufacturer's warranty by one year or even two years. Sony announced the Protection Plan on its web site. A one-year extension for the PS3 runs $49.99, and if you want a two-ter extension plan it will cost you $59.99. A one-year PSP plan costs $29.99, and for two years it will cost $39.99. (read more)
